Born and raised in Shenzhen City, the “Southern Gem of China”, Yan Zhang started listening to Hip-Hop and R&B music from the U.S. in the mid 90’s when these terms were hardly known in China. Now, in New York pursuing his Masters in Media and Communications, he works as a social media marketing intern at Reverse Spin Entertainment. Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, Yan enjoys communicating with everyone from city council members to street vendors in Chinatown. He cites Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway as two of his favorite singers.
Brittany Wyatt is a graduating senior at Howard University. In May 2012, she will be graduating with a degree in TV production and a minor in English. While attending Howard she has actively invested in her craft both on and off campus by interning at MTV, Dream Factory, and WPGC 95.5, as well as participating in campus organizations including the college TV station. Along with her passion for mass media comes her passion for the development of children. Her goal is to help curve the negative influences of the media by teaching technical aspects of video production. Currently, she works at D.C. Parks and Recreation and Wonders Childcare, teaching video production. When she graduates, Brittany plans to move to New York to continue pursuing her career. Brittany works as a Communications Intern at Reverse Spin Entertainment.
Maddy Tabing was born and raised in San Francisco, California. After attending her first year of college in Pennsylvania, she realized she needed to be in the Big City. Currently, she is living in New York City attending NYU, majoring in Media, Culture and Communications with a focus in Persuasion & Politics and Technology & Society. Maddy works as a Communications Intern at Reverse Spin Entertainment.
Sharifa Daniels is a graduating senior at Howard university. She is getting a degree in film; with a minor is political science in May. She has interned for PraiseBreak, Howard University film department, and BET. She has worked on TV shows such as 106th and Park, Bobby Jones Gospel, My Mic Sounds Nice, and 30 Moments in Hip-Hop to name a few. She has a concentration in film editing and has made short films, music videos, promos, and recently edited her first feature-length film entitled “Jake’s Wake”. She has been interning with Reverse Spin since November of 2011.
A born and raised New Yorker, Maxine lived most of her life in Merrick, Long Island. Her mother in a Long Island native and her father grew up in Romania. After visiting family twice in Europe as a young child, Maxine began to have a love for traveling and learning about other cultures. After graduating high school in 2007, she then decided to go to school in Delaware, living there during the school year and coming back home to Long Island in the summers and winters. She began her collegial career as a communication major, however, after studying abroad a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she quickly picked up Spanish and pursued an education in both subjects. In 2011 she graduated as a double major in mass media communication and Spanish literature and language from the University of Delaware. Today, she is still living in Merrick and commuting to the city to intern for Reverse Spin Entertainment. She is currently working to pursue a career in communication and the entertainment industry, hoping to find her niche in a job where she can mix all her true passions: music, people and traveling.
